Little priced Android mobiles manufactured by Blu are now enforced with the release of an upgraded version of the Vivo 5, the new Vivo 5R (Refresh) by Blu comes with a better selfie camera, better screen, a Fingerprint sensor on the back and is available to pre-order via Amazon for the same pricing of that of Vivo 5, only $199.99.
The Blu Vivo 5R smartphone features an improved Super AMOLED 5.5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution (1280 x 720p is the screen of the Vivo 5 announced in May) made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 material. Vivo 5R, this time, it comes with a better camera, the main unit is a 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor with phase detection autofocus sensor for shooting 4K videos at 30fps, while the second is an 8MP camera capable of recording full-HD videos at 1080 pixels. Both cameras are packed with their own LED flash.
The processor is the same featured in the former edition, a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6753 clocked at 1.3GHz backed by 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage up to 64GB, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Blu also announced that the current Vivo 5 users will be receiving Android Marshmallow upgrade very soon, something positive for those who do not want to throw away their Blu Vivo 5 phone.
Connectivity supports include the dual SIM cards, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, USB Type-C, and the Fingerprint sensor. Another improvement comes with battery, the capacity remains untouched clocked at a 3,150 mAh unit but the Vivo 5R comes supporting Quick Charge technology.
The new Vivo 5R by Blu brings additions found on the phones of its pricing but without hitting an upgrade on the pricing. It is available to pre-order on Amazon for $199.99 (that’s also the retailing price of the Vivo 5) in Grey and Gold colors.
