2016 was a successful year for Meizu, the Chinese phone maker has recently announced the Pro 6 Plus, a 5.7-inch phablet with Quad HD display that runs Samsung’s Exynos 8890 processor with 4GB of RAM, 128GB storage and is highlighted by a featured 12MP rear-facing 4K phase detection autofocus camera. By far, Meizu has limited its devices on forcing them to run only on MediaTek chipset, the jump break happened very recently, the Pro 6 Plus is company’s first phone to not run on a MediaTek processor.
Meizu has huge plans for 2017 and it already seems to be another yet successful year for the Chinese mobile manufacturer. Meizu will be releasing different devices in the upcoming year, but here we will be focusing only on smartphone handsets. And with 2016 still here, we already can name six smartphones by Meizu that will be launched in 2017, and all of them but one will be running MediaTek processors, the different one will be the company’s first Qualcomm processor.

Meizu M5S launches in February 2017
The first of the Meizu-made phones to roll out will be an update to the company’s Blue Charm line of devices. The Meizu M5S (Blue Charm 5S) will be sporting a 5.2-inch HD display, 13MP rear camera, 5MP selfie camera, run the octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage with Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top.
The M5S is a typical Meizu-styled smartphone, it comes with decent specifications, has enough storage, a good battery of 2,930 mAh and will surely aim to overthrow its competitors.
Meizu Pro 7 launching in June 2017
The 2017 Meizu flagship smartphone will be the Meizu Pro 7 that is set for deputation in June of this upcoming year. The rumors surrounding this phone claim that it will be the first of phones by Meizu with a curved display. Well, why not? Every major company is releasing phones with curved screens, Meizu doesn’t have reasons to be an exception.
The Meizu Pro 6 is said to be running the deca-core MediaTek Helio X30 processor with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and it will be highlighted by Android 7.0 Nougat.
Meizu Blue Charm S launching in August 2017
The international name of this phone is Meizu M3X, while in China it will be called as Meizu Blue Charm S. It will be a mid-range phone with MediaTek Helio P25 chipset and Android 7.
Meizu MX7 launching in September 2017
Meizu will kick-off autumn with the launch of Meizu MX7 smartphone that will be running the MediaTek Helio P30 with eight CPU cores. As the phone needs a long time to be announced, very little is known about it. However, the processor that will be powering the phone is almost certain to be the Helio P30.
Meizu Blue Charm Note 6 launching in October 2017
One month after announcing the MX7, Meizu will be introducing the Meizu Blue Charm Note 6 phone with MediaTek Helio P20 processor. This seems to be a downgrade for Meizu, considering that the Helio P10 is not even now a top-notch choice for hi-end smartphones or whatsoever. This is one of that news that should be taken with a grain of salt and left to time for further verifications.
Meizu Blue Charm M launching in December 2017
The only Meizu phone that is known by far to be running on a Qualcomm processor is the Blue Charm M and even that will be a Snapdragon 626 unit. No other information about this phone is known.
Despite all these, we very well know that Meizu will be surprising us in 2017. The company’s phones are popular worldwide and mostly participate in sales that last a few minutes, while in China, the company sells always the entire stock in the launch flash pre-sales online. Meizu has surprised us this year with the announcement of Meizu Pro 6 Plus and will continue to do so in the future.
