Update: The alleged renders claiming to be the upcoming Windows-powered gaming Phone result of being fake. The reason for this is because Carl Zeiss branding was abandoned in 2013 when the company moved to Zeiss branding. However, these renders might belong to a previous Lumia phone.

Windows Mobile phones are far from being over. That’s because Microsoft hasn’t yet given up on developing Windows smartphones. Fresh renders from China display an upcoming Microsoft-made phone that bears the name of Surface Phone on the back and that’s believed to the rumored Microsoft flagship phone to be announced sometimes at late 2017. Other reports claim that Microsoft may introduce its flagship at MWC 2017 event, thus, setting a date for when to expect the handset to go live.

What can be seen from the leaked images consist of totally external features, such as design and cameras. However, the rumors suggest that the Microsoft Surface Phone flagship will be running the Snapdragon 835 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and Windows 10 on top. Though these specs are subject to confirmation and alongside the leaked renders should be taken with a grain of salt.

Based on rumors and numerous leaks, Microsoft Surface Phone is said to come in 5.5-inch and sport a Quad-HD touchscreen display with a fingerprint sensor embedded under the glass. Little is known about the upcoming Microsoft flagship smartphone, but if Microsoft is bringing a new phone anytime soon, at least we will be knowing what to expect.
