Huawei has recently announced the downgraded version of the Honor 8 midrange mobile in Finland. The new Huawei Honor 8 Lite drops the rear dual cameras setup and comes with a less powerful mobile processor. Honor 8 Lite is set to kickstart its sales in Finland starting by 17 of February where it will sell for 269 Euros (~$289). The Honor 8 Lite is around $100 cheaper than the dual-camera Honor 8.
The Huawei Honor 8 Lite sports a glass design on both sides with paired together by metallic framing and continues its predecessor’s full HD touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The featured main camera is a 12MP phase detection autofocus unit with a large f/2.2 aperture lens for recording videos at 1080 pixels. The selfie camera which also supports full HD video recording is the same 8MP selfie-enhanced camera with f/2.4 aperture.
The Hisilicon Kirin 950 featured on the Honor 8 is dropped from the lower Hisilicon Kirin 655 with 3GB of RAM. The handset will not start with 32GB of storage but will instead have a 16GB of RAM version. The expandable memory via microSD is support by up to 128GB. Honor 8 Lite highlights its features with the Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade with company’s own EMUI 5.0 skin on top.
Honor 8 Lite supports two SIM cards (one of the slots also functions as a microSD reader), 4G LTE network, NFC, GPS, WiFi, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The handset gets powered by a 3,000 mAh battery supporting Quick Charge technology and will be available in Blue, White, Gold, and Black colors. Dimensions of Honor 8 Lite measure 147.2 x 72.94 x 7.6 mm while its weight is just 147 grams.
