The Huawei’s P9 and the larger version, the Huawei P9 Plus are surely one of the top alternatives Chinese phone to the Samsung Galaxy S7 and to the upcoming iPhone 7. The P9 features a stunning and unique dual 12MP rear-facing camera to shoot mind-blowing photos via the upgraded “Hybrid focus” technology, supports 4G LTE network, has a 4GB of RAM version with 64GB of expandable internal storage, and ships running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Huawei P9 comes as a result of cooperation between Huawei and Leica, its body is built of aerospace aluminum topped with 2.5D glass, measures a 5.2-inches of FHD AMOLED touchscreen display with 1920 x 1080 pixels. The P9 Plus sports a larger screen of 5.5-inch with the same FHD pixel resolution.
Huawei and Leica worked together to develop an outstanding camera phone that rocks dual-lens 12MP camera for shooting brilliant photoshoots via the Monochrome and RGB sensors and the Leica optics to capture more light and combine the captured colors with the P9’s merging algorithm. The dual 12MP rear camera features BSI CMOS sensor, dual-tone flash, and f/2.2 aperture lens, touch focus and more. While on the front is located the 8MP camera unit with f/2.0 aperture lens and capable of shooting videos at 1080p.
The new Huawei phone comes running on the 64-bit Huawei Kirin 955 with four Cortex-A72 CPU cores clocked at 2.5GHz and other four Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.8GHz, backed by 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage (the Huawei P9 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage models, the Huawei P9 Plus has only the 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage model), and ships upgraded to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with company’s own Emotion UI 4.1 on top.
Both models of the P9 support two SIM cards (there’s the single SIM version for both models), NFC, Wi-Fi a/b/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB type-C, 4G LTE connectivity, 3G network, GPS, Glonass, and what highlights its specs is the support of the Fingerprint sensor. The Touch ID fingerprint sensor is found at the back side of the device, right below the dual-lens camera.
The Huawei P9 measures dimensions of 145 x 70.9 x 6.95mm and weighs approximately 144 grams, and gets powered by a 3000 mAh battery, while the larger version, the Huawei P9 Plus measures 152.3 x 75.3 x 6.98mm, weighs 162 grams, and gets fueled by a 3,400 mAh battery.
