The Chinese phone maker Coolpad has held today a special event in Shanghai, China, where has outed its flagship phone. The Coolpad Cool Changer S1 value phone with quality cameras is company’s gift for holidays, the 5.5-inch Cool Changer S1 runs the hi-end Snapdragon 821 SoC, features a 16MP Sony IMX298 camera, fingerprint sensor, gets powered by a large 4,070 mAh battery, and comes with 6GB of RAM version.
Coolpad’s Cool Changer S1 sports a 5.5-inch metallic unibody design with an FHD touchscreen display (1920 x 1080p) and gets powered by the 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.35GHz backed by 4GB and 64GB of RAM and runs EUI 5.8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The phone comes with three models of storage, the 4GB of RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB of RAM with 64GB storage, and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of flash memory. The phone lines up with the limited number of smartphones with 6GB of RAM.
Cool Changer S1 sports the 16MP Sony IMX298 CMOS camera with 6 element lens, f/2.0 aperture lens, HDR, phase detection autofocus and LED flash for snapping photos at a maximum resolution of 4608 x 3456 pixels and recording videos at 4K resolution. The housed selfie camera is an 8MP unit with a f/2.2 aperture for full-HD video recording and video chat.
The connectivity supports featured on the Cool Changer S1 are highlighted by the support of two SIM cards, 4G LTE network, dual-band WiFi clocked at 2.4GHz and 5GHz, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C, and a fingerprint sensor located on the back side of the handset. Coolpad didn’t provide any physical Home button on this flagship.
Coolpad’s newest hi-end powerhouse Cool Changer S1 is built for power, its speakers are made by Harman and use surrounding technology for sound to improve the sound quality. The 4GB of RAM with 64GB storage costs 2,499 Yuan ($359), the 6GB of RAM with 64GB storage for 2,699 Yuan ($388), and the powerhouse Coolpad Cool Changer S1 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage will be selling for 3,199 Yuan ($459). This phone will be available for orders starting by December 25.
