Asus ZenFone AR with 8GB RAM and Augmented Reality launched at CES

The CES show hosted the introduction of the world’s first gaming smartphone with 8GB of RAM, Asus ZenFone AR. However, more memory is not everything that describes the new Asus flagship. ZenFone AR supports Daydream, Google’s virtual reality function and Tango, Google’s augmented reality (AR) system. The new Asus phone is the second phone to support Tango and is actually the very first one to support VR and AR at the same time. Despite its features in VR and AR, ZenFone AR has outstanding supports in photography, memory, and connectivity.

The ZenFone AR boasts a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display without the notch that features a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and sports a 23MP Sony IMX318 phase detection autofocus camera with f/2.0 aperture lens, hybrid autofocus, 3-axis image stabilization and HDR for snapping photos up to 5488 x 4112 pixels and recording 4K videos up to 3840 x 2160 pixels. Besides the 4K Sony-made camera, a secondary motion camera sensor is mounted on the back side of the handset that uses infrared technology to measure the distance from objects. In the front, the phone packs an 8MP full HD camera.

The second rear camera together with the outstanding Sony-made unit come handy with phone’s Augmented Reality features while the QHD display provides optimal conditions for VR. Asus has loaded the handset with some built-in AR apps that can help you make different tasks easier to manage.

Features and supports of Asus ZenFone AR phone are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. It will come in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB of storage and will run on ZenUI 3.0 built-in Android 7.0 Nougat. The internal storage can be expanded via microSD up to 2TB.

ZenFone AR supports two SIM cards where both can run on 4G LTE network, it supports dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C, NFC, and a fingerprint sensor mounted on the Home button.

The new Asus handset gets powered by a 3,300 mAh non-removable battery BoostMaster fast charging technology that requires only 39 minutes to charge it 60 percent. The phone will initiate sales only in Charcoal Black color.
