Alleged leaks about the upcoming premium Android from China, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, have popped up today as well. The current provided information consists of sketches of the upcoming Redmi Note and its full specifications. The latest leaked information declines yesterday’s report about a Redmi Note 5 with a front-mounted fingerprint. The handset is said to have the fingerprint on the back. If this is true, then the yesterday’s images did not belong to the Redmi Note 5 but to another future Xiaomi phone, probably Redmi Note 4X.
The new leak provides information about a Xiaomi phone with serial number 2016102, the handset is reportedly strongly believed to be the Redmi Note 5. If these leaks are true, then the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be dropping the MediaTek processor of its predecessor for the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 backed by Adreno 510 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The alleged phone is said to come in 32GB and 64GB of storage versions with MIUI 8 operating system on top.
Redmi Note 5 will be sporting a metallic body design with a 5.5-inch display featuring a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and protected by the 4th generation of Corning Gorilla Glass. It will feature a 16MP PDAF main camera on the rear with dual-tone LED flash and an 8MP full HD front-facing selfie shooter.
The alleged Xiaomi phone will be support 4G LTE network, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, and a fingerprint sensor located on the back side of the phone. In the terms of design, the Redmi Note 5 will not be having much of changes.
This year’s generation of Redmi Note phone will have a smaller battery of 4,000 mAh with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It will measure dimensions of 150mm in length and 75mm in width, phone’s thickness remains to be unknown.
