BlackBerry will be announcing a new and unique smartphone with physical buttons at CES 2017 event that will start on January 5. Next week. The new BlackBerry smartphone is small in size and comes with multiple codenames, the phone is known as BlackBerry DTEK70, BlackBerry Mercury, and BlackBerry BBB100. Despite its many names, the handset is a uniquely designed 4.5-inch smartphone with a curved screen, physical keyboard, and a fingerprint sensor on the Space bar of the keyboard. Totally unique.
Blackberry Mercury’s curved screen appeared in leaked renders a few days back. But the new render shows the phone in all its glory. You can view the exposed photo below.
BlackBerry Mercury will be sporting a 4.5-inch curved touchscreen display with a resolution of 1680 x 1080 pixels and run the Snapdragon 821 processor with 3GB of RAM and Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The reference cites that the phone will be featuring an 18MP camera on the rear (maybe with 4K video recording support) and an 8MP front-facing full HD selfie camera.
BlackBery’s upcoming DTEK70 phone will be powered by a 3,400 mAh battery.
BlackBerry’s DTEK50 and DTEK60 phones are now rebranded as Alcatel phones. There was news stating that BlackBerry will be leaving the smartphone developing business but it seems like we’ll not be left without smartphones featuring physical keyboard yet. DTEK70 brings the top-notch features and highly-popular trends like curved screens on a tiny 4.5-inch display panel. However, this phone will not be sizing 4.5-inch in total as it features a physical keyboard under the display, the total size might be 5.5-inch or above.
