The new mobile phone maker founded on this year and branded as Vernee has nailed the market of budget mobile devices. The tactic to do that was not via bringing entry-level phones for a low budget but by bringing a 5-inch handset with mid-range specs, including Fingerprint Sensor and Google’s latest mobile OS for the price tag of only $112. Forget about other budget phones, the Vernee Thor specs are comparable to those of top tier phones and it sells thrice (or more) times cheaper.
Is safe to say that no other mobile device priced at $112 brings the features and support of the Vernee Thor.
Thor’s 5-inch touchscreen display is laminated and made of the durable Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It sports a 13MP rear-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture lens and LED flash that shoots videos at 1080p and a 5MP front-facing selfie snapper.
The power of the Vernee Thor comes from its 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 with eight Cortex-A53 CPU cores paired with the Mali-720 GPU and it comes backed by 3GB of RAM and 16GB of flash storage supporting expansion by up to 128GB via microSD. Despite the powerful processors and availability of memory, the Thor phone comes upgraded to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS (most of other phones at this price are not even upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop).
The $112 Thor did tell the world about how a budget smartphone should look and what it should provide. And Thor does offer big in the terms of connectivity, it supports two SIM cards where both can run on the 4G LTE network, supports 3G connectivity, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and highlights its connectivity specs with the support of the Fingerprint Sensor.
The Vernee Thor measures dimensions of 96.5 x 169.5 x 43mm, weighs 140 grams, and gets powered by a 2,800 mAh battery.
